10 Days Uganda Birding Safari Full itinerary 

A pick up from the Entebbe Airport/hotel depending where you opted for a pick up by our safari guide. Our 10 days birding safari will leave a gripping mood for you to feel a worthy 10 days Uganda Visitation. Check in to your hotel, depending on your arrival/pick up time. Morning hours take us to the Entebbe birding hot spots like Entebbe botanical Gardens yielding numerous bird species. For example  Red Chested, Diederick Cuckoo, Grey Capped, Blue and Ross’s Turacos and Eurosuian Reed Warblesr. Fain Tailed Widow bird, Woodland Kingfisher, Pygmy Kingfisher, Green Throated and Gaber Goshawk. Olive, Red chested, Black Bishop, Black Headed Weavers, Klaas’s, Black Kite, Red Bellied Paradise and  Grey Woodpecker.  Slender Billed, Olive bellied, Bat Hawk(seen in evening hours)and so many more.

Mabamba offers an inspiring adventure traversing the swamp in a canoe sighting. More so at numerous water loving birds like the most spotted; the rare shoe bill, papyrus Gonolek. Birding Lake Mburo National Park takes us to a popular birding hot spot in Kiruhura District in the Western Region of Uganda with over 300 bird species. The park raises about 30 kilometres offering best watching hot spots.  And as well encountering with Mburo wildlife species like zebras, hippopotamus, elands, warthogs, buffaloes, jackals, leopards, impalas.

Enjoy a Mburo game drive with a professional birder guide and a game ranger through the carpeted Lake Mburo grasslands. More so, with acacia trees where birds stand to lay nests. The most sighted birds shall include the migratory birds from Tanzania originating from West Africa plains. Fore example  the Brown-chested Plover and the Red-faced Barbet as we encounter with the Mburo wildlife species.

After lunch, prepare for a boat drive to sail over the undulating lake Mburo. In addition, this offers an arresting birding adventure spotting out the water loving bird species. For example African Fish Eagle, Little Bittern, White Backed Night Heron, Black Crowned Night, African Open Billed Stork, White-crested Turaco, Green Backed Heron and many more.

Most locals pronounce it as Ruhizha, yet we define it as Ruhija. Well, as long as it offers an arresting mind for a birding Safari. Ruhizha/Ruhija forms part of the large variations of elevation voluminous feature. Bwindi impenetrable forest with dense stands of mulga (acacia) woodlands. More so, with numerous gigantic forest species where over 348 species of Ruhizha Bwindi birds are spotted. For Example, the Red-throated Alethe, Collard, Dusky Tit, Chestnut Throated and Black throated Apalis. Again the Francolin White-starred Robin, Stripe Breasted Tit, Grey Cuckoo Shrike, Grauer’s Warbler. Furthermore, the Dusky and Shelley’s Crimson wing, Augur Buzzard, Mountain Masked, Mountain Illadopsis and many more.

Mubwindi Swamp offers the most absorbing bird watching hotspot for the various endemics.  For example, the Grey Cuckooshrike, Blue headed and Regal Sunbirds, Collard, , Mountain Illadopsis, and Grauer’s Rush Warbler. Again, the Chestnut, Mountain Greenbul, Mountain Masked, Purple-breasted, Red Faced Woodland Warbler. And so many bird species.

We shall channel out from the previously visited Ruhizha section making it to the Buhoma birding hot spots. This is where we are assured to see the Neumann’s Warbler, Rufous-chested Fluff tail, Francolin, Red-chested Owlet, Olive Long-tailed Cuckoo and many more.

On 7 day birding, you have a chance to opt for the mountain Gorilla tracking Buhoma. More so, with rewarding Buhoma activities.  For example nature walks, culture encounters, tracking gorillas as well spotting out wildlife species, For example hyenas, monkeys and others.

The other option is to proceed with birding Buhoma. Again where we have a chance to sight out numerous bird species. In addition with in the forested vegetation attractive to bird life.  Spot out Red Faced Woodland Warbler, Collard, Green, Olive and  olive Bellied. Further, meet the Stulman’s and Narro Tailed Starlings, Rwenzro Doulbe Collard, Black faced Woodland Warbler. Yellow Wiskered Greenbuls, Toro Olive, African Borad Bill, Red-chested Owlet.  Northern Double Collard, Neumann’s Warbler, Green Headed Sunbirds.  Bar tailed Tragon, Pale-breasted Illadopsis, Yellow Crested. Lastly, the Cameroon Sombre, Cabani’s White Throated, White Chinned Prinia and more.

Check out, Prepare for a transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park seen in the Western Region of Uganda. Again this covering the districts of Kasese, Kamwenge, Rubirizi, and Rukungiri on an estimated land cover of 1,978 square kilometres.
