Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is the home to the forest giants, the mountain gorillas, and on this day, you get to meet them. Besides the gorillas this Impenetrable Forest is full of birds, butterflies and plant species plus forest hog, forest Elephants, Statungas and Dikers.
They are also known as the Twa in Rwanda are an indigenous group of people who originally lived in the ancient Bwindi forest in Uganda until it was gazetted as a National park in 1991. More so, the Batwa lived in harmony in the jungle with all creatures including the mountain gorillas.
Today they are some of the poorest people in the whole world with a low life expectancy and a high infant mortality rate. Some anthropologists say that most pygmy tribes such as the Batwa/the Twa have existed for more than 60,000 years in the equatorial forests. The Batwa lived a lifestyle of gathering fruit and plant, and hunting game in the forest using bows and arrows, this was mainly for both medical and food purposes. They led a harmonious life in the forests, they never practiced farming, no charcoal making or deforestation, not even the shelters they had could destroy the environment.
After the trek transfer to beautiful Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is in south-western Uganda between Kisoro and Kabale, and it is close to the border with Rwanda.
